Hi, my name is Julie (Hi Julie).  And I have a painful addiction to television recaps.  For as long as I can remember, I have spent hours and hours of my free time trolling the internet in search of said recaps.  Entertainment websites, spoiler pages, fan sites, and message boards — you name it, I have indulged in it, like the true glutton that I am.

And then, one day, I had an epiphany:  I too can write pages like these!  By doing this, I have the power to turn what was formerly a rather embarrassing habit into a constructive outlet for my clearly useless, yet overflowing, television knowledge and snarky commentary!

If you are addict too, perhaps this page can provide you with some solace . . . or at least a good way to kill a few minutes of your precious time.

    I think your recaps are great. I agree that since the television people can’t think of any new ideas they keep reproducing copies of old shows with the slightest of changes. Thanks for the laughs and the recap of Big Love, which I found much to complicated to follow without a score card. Keep up the good work.

      I got so excited when I saw the link, I almost squealed out loud. Unfortunately, my work computer does not have speakers . . . (apparently, my bosses know me well :)). However, I can GUARANTEE that this will be the first thing I watch when I get home! Thanks again! I’ll report back later with my thoughts . . . 🙂

      Oops! I knew that! Sorry Amy! I just get so used to using “handles” on here, that I sometimes forget my manners. And, apparently, I am very hard to train. (Now I know how truck drivers must feel . . .)

      That clip was AWESOME. The way I SEE IT, “How Sue C’s It,” MUST be made into a half-hour sitcom spinoff. The trick here, is NOT to wait until Glee goes off the air (which, hopefully, will not happen for many, many, MANY years!) This CANNOT be a “Joey!” Or to take Sue off of Glee. This CANNOT be a “Private Practice.”

      Fox should just switch the “Sue Show” in for one of Fox’s failing shows. (They certainly have a few . . .). To “swish it up a bit” (in Sue’s words), Chelsea Handler can play her slutty lesbian alcoholic co-anchor. Now, THAT’s something I’d watch!

      Less than a month to go before Glee! And less than 24 hours until VD! (Vampire Diaries, of course!) See you then!

    Okay, this is ridiculously long, so you don’t have to actually read it, but I sent this email to my best friend a little while ago, and I though, just because I am bored, I’d send it to you (couldn’t figure out how to email it, so I’ll just stick it here.):

    Some videos that will make you smile . . . if you have time to watch them. Should be just a couple minutes in all. They all made me smile, I’m pretty sure they would make anyone smile (anyone with ovaries, anyway).

    Oh, the hilarity.
    This video just by it’s self would be funny, but when you recognize the really, really, really ridiculously good looking one in the green shirt, then, it becomes insanely hilarious. I actually laughed out loud, which I rarely do.

    Northman Vids
    A couple good Northman (fan) videos. Remember like a million years ago (aka six or seven weeks) you suggested (in passing) that I make an Eric/Sookie video (like I did w/ Kyle XY)? Well, I do (even though I’ll bet good money you don’t), and I think I’ll do it. When I have time . . . which could quite possibly be never. Although I did find the time to write this email, so. . . . In the meantime, some Northman videos I liked:
    Show Me Your Teeth
    Very well timed. I especially liked 1:05-1:10 (“love you with my hands tied” lol, perfect w/ clip), 1:16-1:20, timing w/ music was perfect (not to mention how can you not like seeing Eric beat up Bill), but really the whole thing was good. I loved how every time the lyrics “show me your teeth” came up, someone extended fang.

    The awesomeness that is Sookie&Eric. I don’t know what’s with me and Lady Gaga tonight, (I really hate her) but this song really fits. “I want your loving, I want your disease”. This just seemed to fit w/ Sookie & Eric best, to me. LOVED the very end (maybe I didn’t need to put ‘loved’ in all caps, but it was good.)

    Okay, don’t blame me, I had to add this. I am pretty sure I’ve sent it to you before, but this is an email of videos that make me smile, and I couldn’t not include this video. I especially love 0:48-:53 w/ the fang comparison (what are Bill’s . . . candy corn?), 1:03-1:08, as well as 1:08-1:18 (“It’s time that we let the world know, dude, you gotta let your girl go” so fitting [Bill, leave Sookie ALONE] plus the look Eric gives Bill at 1:18 so great) and 1:27-1:29 (clip perfect) also 1:41-1:46, and the ending. Yeah, I like a lot about this one.

    Lastly, in celebration of the Sookie/Bill breakup (yay!!). I hate Eminem, and I’d never heard this song before (it’s pretty awful and misogynistic) but if you think about it (especially with the new information we have about how Bill is, like, the pinnacle of douchey-ness [I know you hate that word, but Bill is worse than a vaginal cleaning instrument, you have to admit if anyone deserves that label, it’s Bill (if you’re me)]) this is really fitting. Plus, we get some Eric (nothing could be complete without everybody’s favorite viking) so that’s a plus. This song is bad, but I try to think of it as funny. It makes me want to kill Bill.

      Hey Madeleine! It’s so great to see you on the blogosphere! Thanks so much for all the sexy, hilarious (and one VERY disturbing- I think you know which one) videos! Man, you’ve reminded me just how much I miss my TB, and ESPECIALLY my Eric Northman!

      It’s funny. The first video you sent me was actually banned by Paramount, so I couldn’t watch it on YouTube. However, based on your “ridiculously good looking” comment alone, I just KNEW you were talking about Meekus in Zoolander. I actually found another video that mixes the Meekus scene with scenes of Eric Northman from TB. It’s pretty cool, actually. Check it out:

      I think the Bad Teeth video had to be my favorite of all of them! It had ALL the best Sookie / Eric scenes from Season 3! It featured: lots of personal space invasion, a multitude of longing looks exchanged, and, of course, the Blue Panty Dropper sweater was in FULL EFFECT, which is always a good thing. 😉

      And the second video – with all the S/E make out sessions (biting and sucking included)! Major win!

      I cracked up at the “My Dick” video (especially the part with Bill and the French Fries – genius). The lyrics of that song are just so golden! I kept trying to remember where I heard it before. Did they ever play this song on True Blood? Or was it maybe Hung or Entourage? I distinctly remember hearing this song in the closing credits of an HBO show. This is going to drive me crazy, I just know it!

      Uyyyy, that fourth video. Kill Bill indeed!

      I can’t wait for Season 4, when, hopefully, it will be all Sookie / Eric, all the time (with a short stopover at Alcide, perhaps?). Once that happens, all that Sookie / Bill stuff from seasons prior will be just a painful, but fast fading, memory. 🙂

    Hello, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your recaps. I somehow came across your Teen Wolf ones and was hooked. Now that season 2 is getting close to starting I’m very eager for more of your hilarious reviews. Since the season 2 trailer was just released will we get your thoughts on it or do we need to wait for the season to star? Thanks =)

      Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting, Serenity_dmn! I’m so glad you enjoyed my Teen Wolf recaps from this past season! I also want to thank you for alerting me to the existence of the Season 2 trailer. I honestly had no clue that had come out this weekend. What an awesome surprise!

      While, I’m currently a bit tied up with Season Finales to recap, and such, I definitely plan on continuing to recap Teen Wolf, when it returns in June.

      I also would love to do a blog post on that awesome trailer I just viewed, perhaps sometime in the next two weeks. (By then, the first ten minutes of the episode will probably have been released. And we can discuss those as well! :))

      Hey Insidious Miss! I have been working on something for the Boardwalk Season Premiere. 🙂 Better late than never, right?

      By the way, what did you think of the episode? Boardwalk Premieres have never exactly been known for their “action-packed” natures. However, I thought “Resolution,” did a nice job of revisiting the characters, and setting the scene for what’s to come.

      And that scene with Harrow toward the end of the hour (you know the one ;)) . . . caught me completely by surprise.

      Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting, Justine. I really appreciate your support. I would like to start recapping PLL again, when the series returns in June. That’s my plan. (Hopefully my life schedule will allow me to get it done.) And while it may be too late for me to go back and recap all the episodes I’ve missed, I would definitely consider doing a past season retrospective prior to the new season premiere. That could work, right?

I don’t know if you watch Sleepy Hollow but EW is having this opportunity where you can write about the show and make money while doing it.     Hello, my name is Pamela and I am so a television addict. 🙂 I just found this page and read all kinds if stuff. My favorite is the Pacey/Joey vs Damon/Elena post. Since I am huge huge fan of both shows. I am also def not a teenager, being in my 40’s but still a tv and teen drama addict. I am also stuck at home after an injury and multiple surgeries and won’t be going back to work any time soon so if you ever want someone help recap a show please let me know. I wrote briefly for The Geekiary but my writing style didn’t fit fell with them. So please, keep writing so I can read and if you want any contributors who love tv like you do please let me know.

      Thanks so much for reaching out! I’m always happy to hear from a fellow fangirl / Woman, especially one who is a Joey/ Pacey fan. If you are looking to recap and or review films while you recuperate, perhaps reach out to Agony Booth. I recapped a few shows for their sister site Happy Nice Time People, which has since merged with Agony Booth, and will likely do so again in the fall, though I always cross post my work here for old times sake.

      Agonybooth.com if you want to check them out.

      Ask for Rick Lewis, whose contact info you can find on the site. Send him a few of your pieces, so he can see the kind of work you do. And if it’s a good fit, he can probably set you up with one of the many fall shows not yet being recapped. There’s even a little pay involved! It’s not much, but a little extra cash never hurt anyone right?

      Another fun thing to do during your recoup time, if you ever had a dream to write a novel is check out Nanowrimo! It’s free to sign up, and five of my seven novels started there. One of the nice things about the site is the huge motivational community it offers, that will happily offer you ideas and keep you motivated during the one month slog.
